Welcome to The Coach House in Cowes, an elegant sea view sanctuary positioned on a historic waterfront, perfectly situated for a weekend of escapism or a relaxing coastal retreat, in the epicentre of the British yachting scene.
Your seaside escape awaits: The Coach House sleeps eight people in four luxurious bedrooms, with stunning sea views, modern amenities, relaxing social spaces and ample parking for the perfect getaway in Cowes.
The house opened for guests in the Spring of 2024 and is already regarded as one of the most outstanding rental properties on the Island.

The former hay loft was stripped back, and a new vaulted roof was installed to create a large open-plan living area flooded with an abundance of natural light and enjoying multiple views across the Solent.
A ground-floor extension has created a wonderfully spacious master bedroom with a large ensuite bathroom, and three further bedrooms were created on the ground floor, each with ensuites, providing luxury accommodation for eight people across two floors.
Adjacent to the Coach House is a private gravelled parking area for up to three cars.
Coastal living
The Coach House, a magnificent four-bedroom property, is located in a tranquil location just off Egypt Hill, a two-minute walk from the beach and the vibrant town centre of Cowes.
Originally commissioned in 1874 by London Businessman Charles Maw, The Coach House was built to provide stabling and storage for his family’s carriages and horses.
The house was acquired by the present owners in 2020, who embarked on a significant programme of works to reimagine the property as a four-bedroom luxury residence, simultaneously paying homage to the historical use of the building.
The renovation was undertaken with painstaking attention to detail, using the expertise of local craftsmen, designers and artists.

The spacious open-plan kitchen is furnished with Neff appliances, including two ovens, a combi microwave/oven, a boiling water tap, and an American-style fridge-freezer with integrated filtered cold water and an ice dispenser.
On arrival, you’ll find a welcome basket to get you started, for example, Briddlesford Farm milk and butter and an artisan sourdough loaf from the Lost Mill Bakery in Cowes.
A communal bathroom on this level doubles up as a utility room with a concealed washing machine and dryer.
Time to relax
A large, open-plan living area with a vaulted roof is the pièce de résistance of the Coach House renovation.
Punctuated with touches of modern elegance, this communal space is ideal for unwinding or entertaining. Sink into the perfectly plumped Loaf Smithy corner sofa, overlooked by a limited edition print of the infamous 1970 Isle of Wight Festival, dine around the eight-seater table and admire some of the finest 20th century album artwork, or simply curl up with a book and admire the view across the sea.
A Sonos sound system with audiophile B&W ceiling speakers, allows guest to create the ambience of their choice.

Bedrooms
Four beautiful boutique bedrooms equipped with five-star hotel beds and Egyptian Cotton linen, each with their own en-suite bathroom complete with high pressure showers and top-quality toiletries.
Don’t worry if you all choose to ablute at the same time, there’s an almost endless supply of hot water with a 500-litre system. Each bedroom features artwork from an outstanding local artist.
Take a look at the Bedrooms section for more information on each bedroom and the artists.

Outdoor kitchen
Take advantage of the Isle of Wight’s temperate climes and enjoy The Coach House’s fully-fitted outdoor kitchen and luxurious outdoor seating area, ideal for al fresco dining.
Enjoy cooking a feast on the Beefeater gas-fired BBQ and separate gas burner. All drinks can be perfectly chilled with the commercial grade ice machine.
The garden has a large Belveo cantilever parasol which is useful given that Cowes enjoys 20% more sunshine than the UK average but if the temperature drops there’s always an infra-red heater to keep you warm and enjoy the rest of the evening outside.

STUNNING! Absolutely gorgeous property, like a show room in every space!
Super modern decor, equipment and amenities that exceeded our expectations. The house overlooks the sea and feels really peaceful and elegant.
Every bedroom has an ensuite which was ideal for our group consisting of two families with young children.
Cowes is a pretty coastal town with great provisions. This property is well situated to explore the Isle of Wight and to travel via the RedJet is only 25 minutes from Southampton. We highly recommend.
Perfect Location
Located right on the Cowes seafront, the house offers an unbeatable setting for your stay. Just a 2-minute walk to the beach and a 10-minute stroll into town and the Red Jet ferry.
With breath-taking views over the Solent, it’s the perfect spot to relax with a book and enjoy the lively scenes on the water.

Immerse Yourself in Island Life
A lively and bustling little port, the charming seaside town of Cowes serves as the maritime gateway to the Isle of Wight, ministering eagerly to fulfil the gastronomic desires of international crews and visiting landlubbers.
